This is a set of internal policies and procedures that describe how your company identifies products originating from certified sources. It outlines how errors are prevented (e.g., mixing certified and non-certified products), who is responsible for specific tasks, and what records are maintained.
This refers to the way a company demonstrates that a given product originates from an appropriate certified source – from the moment of purchase, through storage and production, to the point of sale. The auditor will review, among other things: purchase and sales invoices (to ensure they include correct FSC® or PEFC markings), how products are labeled in the system (e.g., ERP or manual methods), labels and markings on products or packaging, and whether the company can identify the source of a given raw material.
The auditor will verify whether the practices described in the documentation are effectively implemented in day-to-day operations. This includes checking whether employees can identify and correctly handle certified products, whether storage practices minimize the risk of errors, and whether the required records and logs are properly maintained.
